Hi, I’’m Anna, an art assistant based in London with a growing range of experience in the art department including short films, commercials and music videos. Stepping up to standby art director more recently. I am currently looking for assistant roles in HETV & Film.
Over my time in the industry I have developed experience in set dressing, prop buying and sourcing, and am confident in making independent choices whilst considering the visual language of the story and the production designer. I have practical experience in prop-making, scenic painting, fabrics + sculpture gained from work in the industry, previous relevant experience at University + coordinating craft workshops for young women in Belfast. I am comfortable on set, having experience in standby props + set dressing and pride on myself on being an attentive, upbeat assistant and communicator.
I’m passionate about film & visual story telling, having affinity to filmmaking from an early age, continuing throughout studies in Media & Film. At the University at Brighton I was drawn to approach graphics through film and 3D, collaborating with moving image artist as well as designing self-made shorts. More recently I studied at Met Film to learn more about the history of film and to write, produce and design my own surreallist comedy short.
When I was introduced to the art department in Belfast I found an immediate connection with the role, the crossroads between visual storytelling and active making. I found my background in graphics present in the form of producing treatments, graphics for props, storyboards + moodboards. Other relevant previous experience includes hospitality and co-ordination/admin roles, with skills in file management, organisation, and maintaining efficent working systems.
I am currently applying to assistant roles in HETV & Film and more senior roles in Indie films and smaller projects. There’s nothing I love more than seeing a vision come to life from beginning to end and I look forward to collaborating on future creative projects.
